    Provide the overall leadership, management anddevelopment of staff employed within the Chief Infrastructure Officers area ofresponsibility.

    Have a proven record of progressive leadership,development and facilitating change in a culture of continuous serviceimprovement.

    The post holder will have to work at any locationwhere the Trust supplies services.     Operational Deliveryof Services:

    E states

    Responsible for the development and delivery of estates services across theTrust, whether PFI or inhouse.

    Advisor onall land, property and estates matters to theCEO and to the Board.

    Work closely with colleagues and external partners toensure that all estates matters are considered as part of any business/servicereconfiguration and in the development of the strategic ambitions of the Trust.

    Support the development of all estates schemes andpreparation of effective business cases to secure stakeholder support.

    Capital Projects

    Has responsibility for delivering Capital ProgramBudgets and associated schemes to the value of £40 million per annum.

    Ensures professional, robust, and timely projectmanagement is in place for all capital projects.

    Be responsible for the management of the Trust's annualcapital program budgets and delivering schemes to time, cost, and quality.

    Support the development of all capital schemes andpreparation of effective business cases to secure stakeholder support.

    Medical Physics

    Responsible for the management of medical devices andequipment based in clinical areas, pathology and radiology departments whichalso includes the medical equipment loan libraries and dynamic mattressdecontamination unit.

    The services extend to laser protection, radiationphysics and co-ordination of radiation protection services and includesprocedures and guidelines for safeguarding the interest of staff and patients. Also,provision of Physiological Measurements support for Urological andGynaecological Services.

    The role needs to ensure that the Trust meets alltheir statutory requirements in terms of non-ionising radiation regulations,clinical laser safety and patient and user safety.

    This service is also offered to community trusts,general practitioners and local Private hospitals through established servicelevel agreements which generate income for the trust.

    Decontamination Services

    Responsiblefor the Hospital Sterilisation & Decontamination Unit (HSDU) and FlexibleScoping Decontamination Unit which is the Trust's on-site decontaminationfacility.

    Thisservice supplies a range of specialist services to cross-site operatingtheatres, wards, and departments, as well as clinics, GP Practices, community,and private sector patrons in relation to the reprocessing of reusable medicaldevices.

    PFI Management

    Support the management of PFI contracts to the annualvalue of £50 million and ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of theoverall service delivery provided under the PFI schemes.

    Provide advice to the Executive Team and the TrustBoard on all matters relating to the delivery, monitoring and where necessarymanagement of the PFI contracts.

    Operate as an 'intelligent client' and ensureeffective management of the contracts within the estates and facilitiesmanagement teams.

    Facilities Management

    Responsible for the development and delivery of allfacilities services across the Trust.

    Work closely with colleagues and external partners toensure that all facilities matters are considered as part of anybusiness/service reconfiguration and in the development of the strategicambitions of the Trust.

    Support the development of all facilities schemes andpreparation of effective business cases to secure stakeholder support.

    HSDU and Sterile Services

    Responsible for the Hospital Sterilisation &Decontamination Unit (HSDU) and Central Sterile Store Department (CSSD) whichis the Trust's on-site decontamination facility.

    We supply a range of specialist services to cross-siteoperating theatres, wards, and departments, as well as clinics, GP Practices, community,and private sector patrons in relation to the reprocessing of reusable medicaldevices.

    Fire Safety and Security Management

    Responsible for ensuring:

    Regular review of fire risk assessments ofall Trust premises

    Staff or their representatives are informedabout identified risks.

    Establishment and maintenance ofappropriate fire safety measures

    Emergency plans available.

    Provision of information, fire safetyinstruction and training to staff.
