    Job Description

The Finance service within Aberdeenshire Council are looking for a student placement for a period of 8-12 weeks to work on a data analytics project. The project will require the student to conduct predictive analytics on Council data to identify trends within historical financial data. The project aims to leverage advanced predictive analytics techniques to analyse and derive actionable insights from financial data.

Using data science techniques, the project seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of financial trends, risks and opportunities. The primary focus will be to identify potential overspends within budgeted financial data, highlighting these overspends to the financial leadership team with a view to aid in optimising decision-making processes, enabling more informed and strategic choices. There is a desire to present this information to the finance leadership team through an interactive self-service dashboard, which will allow for the user to clearly see the potential overspend and break down the factors, within the data, which are contributing to this.
