We are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking Band 7 to work in Acute Medicine based on the AMU at Sandwell Hospital until our move to MMUH.

We have a very exciting time ahead of us where we a planning to move the service/ward to the brand new state of the art hospital .. Midland Met hospital. Where you will be responsible for workforce and service delivery of the 108 bedded AMU comprising as short stay unit, frailty assessment and enhanced care beds along side another unit lead.

Main duties of the job We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and hard working nurse with good communication skills, managerial skill to be part of our Acute Medicine team delivering the best.

We offer education and training opportunities. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to liaise and work with multi disciplinary team and enhance their knowledge and experience. You will also be required to cover leave on the Acute medical units cross site/ areas. About us Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately 600 million and over 7,000 staff. Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond). If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continuing your application with this understanding. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

RN Adults
Current NMC registration
Relevant post basic qualification relevant to clinical speciality

Desirable

Leadership or First line management qualification
Degree level qualification in health related subject
Counselling Skills Certificate qualification
ECDL

Experience Essential

Perceptorship experience
Demonstrable post basic experience including relevant experience at band 6
Experience in acute med

Desirable

Evidence of previous resource management experience.
