This is an exciting opportunity to learn and develop as part of a dynamic team to help drive the success and expansion of a new Ridge discipline, you will gain experience and knowledge of the leading surveying practices by using the latest in laser scanning and land surveying technology and software.

This role is open for both junior/assistant levels and also those individuals at a more experienced level.

With one of the largest teams of chartered surveyors in the property sector, located in regional offices across the UK, we have a depth and breadth of experience, expertise and local knowledge to support our clients at every stage of property investment, ownership and occupation from acquisition to disposal.

We work with a wide range of clients to manage their property portfolios, projects and transactions and due to our continuing success; Ridge and Partners are now looking for a talented Surveyor to join our multi-disciplinary consultancy practice in our Birmingham office.

As a Land and Measured Building Surveyor at Ridge you will benefit from on job learning experiences whilst working on prestigious projects.

Our projects include large residential, industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to much smaller schemes. You will also work with interesting clients including, large retail companies, local authorities, Schools/Universities, contractors, developers etc. together with the option to work on exciting overseas projects.

Role and Responsibilities:

Undertaking topographical surveys using the latest in robotic total station and GPS technology and processing using N4CE software.
Undertaking measured building surveys using a variety of specialist laser scanning equipment including the Leica P40, Leica RTC360, Leica BLK2GO, NavVis VLX and the Trimble X
Processing and analysing topographical survey data to create 2D/3D topographical surveys using N4CE
Registration and processing of laser scan survey data into useable point cloud data using Leica Cyclone/Register 360 and IVION.
Analysing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs
Preparing 2D and 3D survey drawings/models using AutoCAD and Revit
Presenting data to clients and writing reports

Experience and Skills Required:

Experience in using AutoCAD, Revit would be beneficial but not essential.
Experience in using laser scanners would be preferred.

The role requires a combination of working within a team office environment whilst also working outdoors on a range of sites.

There is a requirement to travel to sites nationwide and to work away from home frequently during your Ridge career.

Job Details

Office working hours are between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 with a 1hour lunch break.
Working weekends or out of hours may be required in addition to starting earlier and finishing late on some occasions.
Full clean diving license is required.
Travel for work purposes is provided via company or hire cars
