    We are currently seeking Lairage Operators to safeguard the livestock. This is a full time position working Monday to Friday - 6.00am to Finish with a salary of £11.92 per hour.

    Duties:
    • Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock
    • Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress
    • Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock
    • Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy
    • Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures
    • Comply with health & safety rules, to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents
    • Participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
    • Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager

    Requirements

    Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade
    • Good attention to detail
    • Able to use own initiative
    • Good communication skills
    • Self-motivated
    • Able to work as part of a team

    Basic literacy and numeracy skills

    Experience with livestock, desirable but not a requirement

    Certificate of competence certified, desirable but not a requirement
