    Description

Our Client is a team of experts who advise and provide vital practical help to the construction industry, assessing their Net Zero Carbon capabilities and obtaining carbon credits to offset the embodied and operational emissions their new, or refurbished buildings, produce.

In a nutshell, the company assists customers to analyse their net zero capabilities, providing three levels of assessment, covering corporate strategy, company footprinting and project impacts.

Embodied emissions are those locked-in during the design and building process through, for example, the use of materials such as cement and steel.

Operational emissions are those generated during the use of a completed building.

Sources of these include insulation, heating, power, lighting, ventilation, air conditioning, and other infrastructures, such as lifts and automatic doors.

A much debated subject they help their clients to obtain carbon credits, which offset the embodied and operational emissions their new or refurbished buildings produce that cannot be managed away.

Each credit is essentially a permit authorising a building to emit a ton of carbon.

This is because the price you pay for it nullifies the harmful effect by being invested in a project that delivers environmental benefits.

Obtaining the right carbon credits brings a range of potentially significant advantages to a construction sector organisation, not least because its activity in this field is fully visible to other people and organisations, including businesses.

Services also include recommending carbon reduction measures and innovative solutions that cut the financial commitment needed to achieve net zero.

Aligned with the International Standards Organisation s established procedures for conducting building life cycle assessments, their core expertise is in the phase from cradle to practical completion.

Their work covers emissions arising during stages such as the extraction, processing, and transportation to sites of materials used in construction projects, plus those generated during subsequent building work.

Their approach is deliberately aligned to the UK Green Building Council s Framework Definition for Net Zero Carbon buildings, which is a widely recognised as country s most respected organisation in this field.

As the business targets the next stage of its natural organic growth, several key hires will need to be made to support that growth, which will in turn facilitate a small number of exciting career pathways.

These positions will positively impact all parts and divisions of the company, with opportunities for those interested in buildings and verification, data analysis, life cycle analysis and carbon capture.

The industry is short on expertise in this sector, so refreshingly the organisation is keen to attract hires at both entry/graduate level, and those seasoned in delivering projects, to build the very best team possible.

The Technical Net Zero Team is looking for talented and enthusiastic sustainability professionals who can demonstrate the following criteria:

Knowledge of construction process and building material/services
    Proficient in Microsoft Office package
    Driving licence
