    Working at Carmarthen railway station, you will be responsible for ensuring that our high customer service & operational standards are consistently met.

    What you'll do

    You will help supervise our traincrew depots at this location, ensuring that they have all the tools they need to deliver high levels of service & professionalism. In addition, you will assist the Conductor Management Team in maintaining high standards across the Carmarthen Lines network. This diverse role will entail:

  • Supervising and organising the safe running and operation of trains at the stations and depots
  • Providing a supervisory presence for the staff who are working or visiting the stations
  • Managing & issue the retail equipment/ticket machines for our conductors and retail staff
  • Assist customers at the stations/on trains by selling tickets and offering help if needed
  • Co-ordinating staff with Control/Resources, day to day and at times of service disruption
  • Providing customer support/ assisted journeys, especially at times of service disruption

    We're here for our customers, whenever they need to travel which means your shift lengths & patterns will vary – so you'll need to be flexible in your working hours.

  • Working 4 days per week with an average of 35 hours per week
  • Your shift pattern will include early starts/late finishes and also working weekends & Bank Holidays
  • Your shift pattern and work location can change to meet operational needs
  • Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
