    Area Director - Branch Network (South West)

    As an Area Director, you'll deliver superior business results and efficiency through the dynamic leadership of teams, managing between 7-8 Senior Branch Managers within a Branch Network Area with ultimate responsibility of circa 200 colleagues.

    To inspire, motivate, coach and develop leaders to achieve outstanding performance through your personal leadership and demonstration of the Society's Customer First Behaviours.

    And you'll work alongside other Area Directors and Performance Directors across the UK.

    This role is within the Branch Network and Retail Services Function. People, Finance, Risk, all Distribution Channels, Operations Planning & Controls, etc) to facilitate effective Area leadership.

    Reporting into the Branch Network Director, and working closely with the Performance Director, the role will play a fundamental part in the region's senior management team.

    Demonstrate external market awareness, insight and networking to drive high performance and Simply Brilliant Service . Effectively communicate and engage with customers and the general public to achieve accurate complaint management and resolution.

    Identify and build relationships within the community to promote the Nationwide brand and support local initiatives in line with the Society's Beacon for Mutual Good goals.

    You'll deepen and strengthen customer relationships through leading the Beacon for Mutual Good agenda and positively contribute to being the most admired brand in banking for being and doing good within the Area.

    You'll be a proactive advocate and leader for change at an area level to support Retail Services to achieve key goals whilst minimising risk, and maximising employee engagement and enablement.

    Experience in leading large teams of leaders and remote commercial leadership.
    Exemplify and deliver high performance across a balanced scorecard of
    metrics within their area, including management of cost/income
    supporting and being creative with the people agenda within their area.
