    Description
    The position and grade requires that the employee must have a minimum of 2 years experience
    as a
    field
    service
    Engineer (i.e. within the Engineer grading level).

    The employee must have acquired the relevant qualifications, knowledge and skills and have attended at least 2 product training courses.

    The employee can have a bias toward either IC or elec
    trical trucks.

    Technical knowledge requirements:
    Electrical
    knowledge
    a)
    Be proficient in reading both electrical and IC truck wiring diagrams.
    b)
    Have the ability to diagnose electrical faults on both IC and battery trucks.
    c)
    Be proficient in using a mult
    i meter.
    d)
    Be able or know how to use the following CAN units Curt
    is, Sevcon, Zapi.
    Hydraulic knowledge
    a)
    Be proficient in reading a hydraulic schematic diagram.
    b)
    Be proficient in carrying out pressure tests and be capable of setting relief pressure on the fo

    llowing:

    • main pressure, secondary pressure, steering pressure.
    c)
    Be able to strip and reassemble a hydraulic valve bank, cylinder and gear pumps.
    Transmission
    a)
    Be able to carry out a full pressure test both electronically (on certain models) and manuallyu
    sing pressure gauges and have the ability to diagnose problems.
    b)

    Be able to interpret the test information for main, forward /reverse clutch, torque converter pressure and carry out a full stall test.

    This individual must be team oriented and flexible, and
    actively seek to share information and assist his or her peers.
    He / she must maintain clear written and oral communication proficiency with colleagues and customers.

    o customers by means of maintaining & repairing materials handli
    ng equipment to the highest standard whilst observing Health and Safety regulations at all times. To always ensure value for money is achieved for both the customer and our client.

    Key Tasks:

    To undertake the repair & maintenan
    ce of industrial, agricultural and warehousing trucks and ancillary equipment, ensuring maximum profitability and return.
    Repair of equipment wherever possible as a first time fix ensuring
    full Health and Safety compliance whilst maximizing return on in
    vestment.

    erform pre-delivery and off-hire inspections; make all necessary adjustments; e

    all damage and
    faults are highlighted to superviso
    rs and recorded accurately on appropriate
    Forkway documentation. Ensure a value for money service is provi
    ded and the recommendations are a fair assessment of the repair required
    .

    Full Health and Safety compliance whilst maximizing retu

    To promptly and accurately complete all paperwork required within the role
    including
    servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident r
    eports, timesheets, quotes etc.

    and sent to the office within the st
    ipulated time period.
    To follow all Company, and Governmental Health & Safety policies and procedures. Keep own and common work areas clean and tidy.
    The safety of yourself, your colleagues,
    customers or other third parties is never put at risk.

    ure all allocated work is performed to the specified standard and within the allocated time period.
    Maximise own efficiency without burdening other colleagues.
    To ensure necessary replacement
    parts and spares for stock are ordered promptly.
    Customer or s
    ales opportunity downtime is minimised.
    To ensure all Company issued tools and safety/protective equipment are kept in a satisfactory condition reporting all deficiencies immediately.

    ls and safety/protective equipment may only be used once approve

    d by the departmental manager and must then be kept and used under the Company conditions as outlined above.

    Quality of workmanship is maintained at the prescribed level and risk of personal
    or third party injury is minimised.
    From time to time you may b
    e required to work alone or with other members of staff on customer sites.
    Service and repair of equipment as a first time fix wherever possible.

    Hours- 08:00- 16:30

    Overtime
    Pay between 30- 36k dependent on experience.
    Company van- can be used for personal use.
