Job summary:
Do you want to work for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and care for the Defence Estate? DIO is part of the Ministry of Defence (MOD).
We play a vital role in supporting defence, providing the armed forces and their families with a fit-for-purpose estate that includes accommodation.
As part of MOD, we are responsible for all acquisition, disposal, allocation of assets, construction, and maintenance of estate infrastructure in the UK and abroad.
Our people share the common goal of supporting our armed forces through management of the military estate.We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a truly diverse range of professions including head office functions and specialisms such as surveyors, town planners, airfield pavement experts, foresters, and construction engineers.
We work across the world, in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman.This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description:
- Defence Infrastructure Organisation Accommodation are recruiting for a Housing Estate Officer (HEO) at EO Grade to join the team in North Region based in Edinburgh. This role provides an outstanding opportunity to improve the experience of our Service Families. Additionally, this is also an exciting time to join the team as we are only 2 years into multiyear contracts which were awarded to industry partners, this is an opportunity to help shape the future delivery of our services. As a team we are responsible for the provision of housing to meet the needs of our military customers. Please note we cover a large geographic area including Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the North of England However, this role primarily covers Edinburgh & Penicuik. There may also be a requirement for travel between other Ministry of Defence locations throughout the region such as our Area office in Rosyth amongst others. Some overnight stays may also be required. This role has the responsibility for ensuring the delivery of highquality housing, facilities maintenance, improvement, safety, and the upgrading of community areas such as playparks. A percentage of this role is dedicated towards the Assurance of our Industry Partners (IP) performance. Currently the Edinburgh area has responsibility for circa 600 housing assets.
Person specification:
- Assure the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) contract
- Progress and instruct all SFA Billable Works using the IMS, CAFM
- Engaging with a range of partners including Industry Partners,
and results- Manage your area of responsibility to assist with the development
of Additional Works Plan which helps improve the Estates- Assure Move-In and Move-Out activities
- Undertake Regional Assurance activities
- Undertake all business training
- Commitment to Safety First in all areas of business
- Customer engagement
- Creation and management of new works requests.
- Full Driving Licence is required (role requires travelling to multiple sites not covered by Public Transport
