The School of Policy and Global Affairs is an internationally excellent centre of research and learning on the human condition in all its dimensions.

It is home to about 2,500 students and over 100 staff in three departments (Economics, Sociology and Criminology, and International Politics).

The School aims to attract outstanding members of academic staff who will produce world-leading and internationally excellent research of benefit to society; provide innovative and exciting programmes of study; and enrich the lives and enhance the career prospects of its students.


The Department of Sociology and Criminology has established an international reputation as a centre of excellence in the research and education.

The Department has been ranked 5th nationally and 1st in London in the 2021 REF.

It offers an exceptional and varied programme of study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and runs a well-established PhD programme.

The Department is home to high-profile research centres including: the Centre for City Criminology; the European Social Survey (ESS) centre, the Gender and Sexuality Centre, the Violence and Society Centre, the Work and Society Centre, and the emergent Digital Society centre.


Responsibilities:


We are looking for a committed colleague able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students as well as students from widening participation backgrounds.

You will be able to contribute to the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, covering core modules and developing new modules and be willing to collaborate in the strategic expansion of Criminal Justice studies and boost the Department's research profile.
