    Overview Associate Revenue Accountant


    Location:

    Sheffield 4 days pw, 1 WFH About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean's continued growth in the UK and Europe.

    This role would suit a junior part-qualified accountant with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook.

    You will have responsibility for the revenue recognition for a portfolio of our European product lines, analysing their revenue performance against budget and prior periods and liaising with key contacts within the European operational business to ensure accurate reporting.

    Month end analysis on recognised revenues by customer, analysing variances to budget and prior periods.

    Review and approve the setup of customer contracts in accordance with Aptean methodology to ensure the correct flow of revenue.

    Liaise with Project Managers/Account Managers on revenue performance, ensuring accuracy on project set up. Ensure that financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs. Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner. Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments. Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements. Support with Group and local statutory audits. Support with group acquisition integration work. Ad-hoc projects as required by management.


    About you:
    Educated to degree level or equivalent.

    Prior experience in a finance / accounting role (2-3 years) A demonstrable commitment to progression, ideally you should have commenced with a professional accountancy qualification.

    Prior experience in preparing and posting journals and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations Good IT skills, especially in the use of Excel formulas and pivot tables.

    Previous experience in using an ERP system. Ability to grasp complex concepts and unafraid to ask questions to broaden understanding. Some experience in analysing financial data, identifying and understanding trends. Organised, with attention to detail but with an ability to prioritise and experience of working to deadlines.
