An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Ward Secretary within our Mental Health Service at Atherleigh Park Hospital in Wigan.

The role will involve providing administrative support for the ward managers and clinical staff. The support provided will aim to assist in the day to day running of the wards.

  • To requisition stationery, medical and domestic supplies, including
patients' clothing monies.

  • To requisition ward and patient monies as instructed whilst adhering
to Standard Financial Instructions.

  • To prepare and maintain patients' case notes upon request.
  • Routine typing and filing upon instruction from Ward Manager/Administrator.
  • Retrieval of information upon request.
  • To take telephone calls, deliver messages and deal with enquiries
as appropriate.

  • To ensure jobs are logged on MICAD for repair work as required.
  • Photocopy information as instructed.
