Description

The Role


The purpose of this roles is to facilitate seamless access to drug and alcohol service provision across the criminal justice pathway, supporting improved outcomes and reductions in offending behaviour.

Recover practitioners are expected to take an assertive approach to the coordination/ delivery of assessment and engagement, including for Drug/ Alcohol related court orders and prison engagement, delivering evidence-based interventions (brief and structured) and recovery planning.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders in particular criminal justice partners, across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all Via policies and Safeguarding principles.


The Service


Better Lives is an integrated drug and alcohol service delivered by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Via and Humankind.

We offer a free and confidential support service for individuals and their families affected by drug and alcohol problems.


Our specialist team include substance misuse practitioners, doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and pharmacists, complementary therapists, volunteers and peer mentors.

Together we offer a high quality and professional service that supports individuals and their families who wish to receive advice and treatment for their drug and/or alcohol problems.

We also offer advice and training to local community organisations, ETE, re-integration and aftercare support.
