Your Role and Responsibilities

  • An operational support role whose responsibility includes preventative maintenance and support for Vodafone's Customers and KYNDRYL Management Infrastructure.
  • They will work with key stakeholders to ensure implementation of technical release packages and changes to a high standard and provide the right technical skills to enable the technical analysis and timely resolution for any service issues within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • The Compute engineer will ensure that the complexities of the management and shared infrastructure are understood, and provide support to further enhance stability, making changes to the infrastructure using agreed business processes and best practice.
  • There will be a requirement to engage in complex break fix duties and work closely with the 1st and 3rd line teams in a collaborative manner in order to recover failures in a timely fashion
  • The Compute engineer will be expected to work on their own initiative and actively seek improvements to customer and management infrastructure, offering solutions and recommendations as required.
  • Identify trends and common issues and devise a course of action to remediate findings and constantly looking to improve operational procedures.
  • Working with 3rd line on customer projects.
  • Have a good understanding of how to prioritise workload.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • IT Operational Experience (min 2 years).
  • Experience of enterprise scale managed services.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstratable experience of technical problem solving.
  • Ability to identify trends and common issues and recommend steps needed to resolve.
  • Demonstrate practical skills in the below technologies whilst displaying the passion to develop new skills.
  • Implement and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux V.
  • Implement and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux V.
  • Implement and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux V.
  • Implement and support Red Hat KVM.
  • Unix/RHEL/Solaris System Administration.
  • Cloud Computing experience.
  • Scripting and automation experience and knowledge of Virtualization technologies.
  • Ability to acheive both SC and NPPV3 clearance.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Degree Level qualifications in Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent.
  • Professional industry recognised accreditations in relevant technologies e.g. Redhat, Azure, AWS, Vmware

Required Education
High School Diploma/GED

Bachelor's Degree
