    Vice President, European Financial Controller

    Location: Canary Wharf, London
    Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days from home

    Position Overview:
    Seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, European Financial Controller to join the team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, EU (IA), the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial operations across the European region. This executive-level role requires strong leadership skills, extensive financial controlling experience, and a proven track record of managing large teams in a global context.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financials for the European region, maintaining compliance with external and corporate accounting requirements.
    • Provide guidance on complex financial decisions, including acquisitions and investments, by offering accounting and regulatory advice.
    • Establish, monitor, and enforce strong operational and SOX controls, fostering a culture of continual process improvement.
    • Lead M&A due diligence and integration efforts from an accounting and control perspective.
    • Drive compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, anticipating future legislation and advising management on necessary actions.
    • Manage multiple teams, providing support, guidance, and ensuring cohesive teamwork throughout.

    Requirements:

    • Qualified Accountant
    • Extensive leadership experience managing large teams (more than 10 reports) in various locations.
    • Strong financial controlling experience within a global organization.
    • Proficiency in US-GAAP, IFRS, or related accounting standards.
    • Experience working in a comparable large organization, preferably international.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

    Nice-to-Haves:

    • Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
    • Strong knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
    • Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to challenge and improve processes within an organization.
