Be part of something special

Contrary to the belief that Hospices are sad, depressing, and upsetting places to work, this is certainly not the case here at St Andrew's Hospice.

We offer a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment where our patients, families and staff are at the heart of everything we do, in striving to make each day enjoyable for everyone.

An opportunity has arisen to join our team of drivers operating from our Wilton Road Warehouse and Donation Centre in Humberston.

This is a bank role which offers flexible working and adhoc shifts to suit the needs of the business as and when required.

In this prominent customer facing role, you will be supported by a team of drivers and collections volunteers.

Excellent customer service is an essential requirement to maintain and protect the reputation of the Hospice, along with the ability to support and empathise with a wide range of people in our community.

The role will involve the collection and delivery of donated goods and furniture and will require a level of physical fitness to lift and carry substantial items at times.

A full driving licence with C1 category is essential for this role.

The charity has a portfolio of over 20 retail units situated across the county and into the East Riding of Yorkshire and generate around 40% of the charity's total income.

The retail business includes a distribution warehouse, fleet of delivery vehicles, online trading presence and a range of general and specialist shops across the county and beyond.

Every member of our retail teams play a vital role in delivering the best possible customer service and care to help raise funds through our shops and warehouse operations to support St Andrews Hospice.

We want people to know that the Hospice is not a sad place, and our Hospice does not necessarily mean the end, it can mean healing and support and it can mean laughter, joy, making the most out of the time people have left.

Having a role whereby you play a key part in providing and supporting our staff to do this, so you and the team can give the best possible care to our patients and their families.

- "As the Line Manager for this role, providing outstanding customer service is a passion of mine. The team and I get to make a real difference, and help generate the much-needed income that helps provide our wonderful services to our patients and families. I wear my badge with pride and I'm proud to be part of this dedicated team, who want to make a real impact and help make every day count. If you want to be part of this, then I would love to hear from you"._
