This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well established multi-disciplinary team.

This is a permanent Therapy Clinical Lead role that has become available due to a successful promotion within the trust of the existing lead.


You will work within an established multi-disciplinary team, including, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapists, Community Nurses, Community Matrons and Health and Well-Being Support Workers.


You will be supported with your learning and development, to enhance your career aspirations and enable high standards of rehabilitation to be embedded across the service.

As the Clinical Lead you will demonstrate excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

You will work closely alongside profession specific Clinical Specialists, Clinical Lead therapists in other specialities as well as the Service Manager in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the service, to ensure high quality care for patients.

To organise, monitor and evaluate the provision of the Therapy Service delivered within the community team.

The post holder will liaise with MDT members relatives and carers to ensure maximum effectiveness of treatment.


To take a major role in the advance assessment and treatment of those patients requiring therapy, maintaining up to date and accurate records as an autonomous practitioner.


To be professional, legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of the work undertaken, including the management of the patients treated and to ensure a high standard of clinical expertise s delivered to those patients.


To undertake a team leader role alongside Clinical Leads and Therapy Manager, in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the therapy service on a day to day basis.


Shared responsibility for the continuing professional development and overall performance of band 6 and band 5 therapist, therapy students and therapy support staff.


To take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality of rehabilitation who have complex presentations and determine clinical diagnosis and appropriate treatment and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.

We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Be responsible for the supervision and co-ordination of junior staff, students and assistants on a daily basis.

Ensure that your own practice and that of staff under your supervision meet the required professional standards of practice.

To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload to meet service and patient priorities. Readjusting plans as situations change/arise.


To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments and incorporate them as necessary into your work.


To be an active member of the in-service training programme by the attendance and delivery of presentations and training sessions at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions inhouse and by attending external courses and practising reflective practice.

To communicate effectively and work collaboratively within the clinical setting, to ensure delivery of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary service.

To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of Evidence Based Practice.


You will have responsibility for the continuing professional development and overall performance of Band 6 & Band 5 therapy staff, support staff and students.

Various training and development opportunities are available including protected CPD time, supervision and an individualised job plan.
