Description

12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity
Hackney is one of Britain's most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself.

We are looking for two full time Project Officers to join our Housing Regeneration and Delivery team.

As a Project Officer, you will be part of a team delivering one of the most complex and exciting development and regeneration briefs in the UK.

You will support the delivery of a range of housing regeneration projects - at all stages, from inception to completion.

You will be changing people's lives for the better, ensuring that more families desperately in need have a genuinely affordable place to call home.

You will come to us with a genuine commitment to delivering exemplary housing development and regeneration schemes, as well as an understanding of housing, regeneration and planning issues.

Some experience of project management in a housing development, regeneration or construction environment is desirable.

You will also have a track record of successfully engaging with colleagues and residents - building positive and productive working relationships.

Hackney Council is undertaking an ambitious programme of regeneration across a number of housing estates and sites across the borough.

We aim to transform places by building new neighbourhoods with well-designed housing, streets and public spaces.

The programme is building more than 3,000 new homes over the next 10 years and will deliver badly needed new council rented, shared ownership and outright sale homes across Hackney.

The Council's Housing Regeneration and Delivery teams are leading the delivery of these homes at all stages - starting with setting the briefs for sites, selecting architects and the wider design teams, managing the design process and procuring contractors or developer partners.

There is no better place to work in London than Hackney; we have great pride in our borough, our communities, and our services.

Hackney is one of London's most vibrant and diverse boroughs.

It's one of the most sought after areas to live in London with good schools, parks and local amenities, as well as great transport links and vibrant and diverse communities.

The recruitment process is anonymous. Therefore, we do not accept supporting statements or CVs.

Interview date:
Friday 08 and Wednesday 13 September 2023

We are also working towards our vision, which is to be a place for everyone; where residents and staff can be proud; a place that celebrates diversity and where everyone can feel valued, included and involved.

In order to achieve this, we look for people who are:
Proud; Ambitious; Pioneering; Open; Proactive; Inclusive.
