Assistant Buyer

Near Kettering (Hybrid)

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

£30-35,000 plus company bonus & excellent benefits package
Do you have previous experience of dealing with suppliers to source new products?

Are you looking for a role that offers progression & end to end accountability for the buying cycle?


If so, this challenging Buyer role could be an ideal venture for you.

  • Reporting to the Category Manager for this specialist organisation, you would be responsible for managing your own fast paced category from sourcing, negotiating & tenders._

Key Responsibilities for the Buyer are:

  • Manage and maintain categories whilst taking full ownership for specific ranges.
  • Work with the sales team to identify customers patterns and requirements
  • Manage and maintain control of the supplier base
  • Undertake cost analysis for new products, which satisfy the company's margin requirements.
  • Manage sales and stock reports; undertaking regular analysis and updating the Manager with any key findings.
  • Understand market and customer trends
  • Ensure continuity of product supply at an acceptable quality level

Skills and Experience Required from the Buyerinclude:

  • Proven buying and purchasing track record
  • A selfstarter with an enquiring mind
  • Commercially astute and highly analytical
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills ideally
All responses will be managed in line with the new GDPR regulations.
