    Job overview

    Appointment to this post offers excellent specialist experience in the management of patients with sarcoma, with extensive transferrable skills and experience of complex radical and palliative radiotherapy planning at all sites in the body, and experience of palliative chemotherapy for metastatic patients.

    There will also be the opportunity for a research/audit project during the attachment. The post would be suitable for a clinical oncology trainee towards the end of their training, looking for post-CCT experience.

    There is an active postgraduate teaching programme and all oncology trainees (or equivalent) are expected to attend. The department has a wide portfolio of clinical trials and an active clinical research programme.

    Post holders will work directly with the two Sarcoma consultant clinical oncologists and alongside other oncology specialist trainees. All candidates should have full registration with the GMC and MRCP or equivalent is essential.

    Start date is June 2024 .

    Main duties of the job

  • To assist in all aspects of the management of care of cancer patients, both inpatients and outpatients.
  • To look after oncology patients.
  • To participate in radiotherapy planning, plan evaluation, on treatment image review, and clinical review of patients receiving radiotherapy.
