This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses as a Process Improvement Co-ordinator at our Canning site in Long Sutton.


The Position
Reporting to the site Technical Manager, this role has responsibility for process improvement to increase quality for the site.


This role will provide support, guidance, trended data and technical expertise ensuring the site remains focused on all aspects of food quality.

As a part of the Technical / QA function, this role will work with the site to ensure compliance with food safety legislation, achieve highest grade possible in all external audits, increase knowledge of quality expectations and improve ways of working, based on the values below:

Shift Pattern
Monday - Friday 08.45 to 17.00 on site

Key Responsibilities

  • One direct report (LS only) Process Improvement Technician
  • Quality
customer complaints

  • Facilitate the investigations into quality customer complaints. Engage the ops and engineering teams where necessary to find root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with the raw materials coordinator on any issues relating to ingredients.
  • Review the processing parameters to ensure appropriate to achieve good quality finished product.
  • Liaise with ops, engineering and quality systems to correct any issues in quality highlighted in the trend analysis of quality customer complaints.
  • Develop complaint reduction plans with the QA Manager and ensure execution.
  • Prepare presentations on complaint reduction plans to be given to customers when on site.
Isolations

  • Facilitate the investigation into any quality related isolations. Engage ops and engineering teams where necessary to find root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Review the data provided in the root cause and risk assessment to aid the QA manager in a decision on disposition.
  • Work with the raw materials coordinator on any issues relating to ingredients.
  • Review the processing parameters to ensure appropriate to achieve good quality finished product.
  • Liaise with ops, engineering and quality systems to correct any issues in quality highlighted in the trend analysis of quality isolations.
  • Create and lead improvement project teams to reduce the level of isolations due to quality issues.
Trials

  • Work with NPD and the site yield improvement teams when required to support any trials on site.
Calibrations

  • Create, manage and review the calibration schedule for all technical equipment either in the laboratory on on line.
  • Ensure all schedules are adhered to and equipment requiring servicing etc is actioned.
  • Create the training documents including the frequency of refresher training and ensure the Technical trainer is capable of delivering.
  • Review all the current service contracts for equipment, ensure they meet COPs, are relevant to the equipment, are cost effective and are carried out to schedule.
Projects

  • Support any site projects which are designed to increase quality or yield.
  • Lead any projects which are initiated from the complaint reduction plan, trends in customer complaints or quality isolations.
