    Job summary

    The Royal Free is inviting applications for a 12-month Echocardiography Fellowship. The fellowship is designed to provide day to day support to the echo service, as well as foundational training in transthoracic echo, stress echo, contrast and bubble echo. There may be opportunity for more limited exposure to transoesophageal echo. The department is led by the Clinical Lead for Imaging, with support from a seasoned team of echo physiologists ensuring a rich learning experience and comprehensive involvement within the echocardiography service.

    Main duties of the job

    The post-holder will be a key part of the echo team, supporting as well as learning from our physiologists, contributing to education and research. The department houses the latest Philips carts, providing the post-holder with the opportunity to gain experience in analysis of 3D and strain imaging. The successful applicant may also have the opportunity to attend one of the Trust's cardiac CT lists each week, subject to discussion and mutual agreement. There is no on-call or general cardiology component of this role, however, the post-holder will be expected to provide cardiology assistance to the echo service as required. By the end of the fellowship, the post-holder should expect to gain proficiency in a range of transthoracic echo techniques, and support will be provided to obtain BSE accreditation if not already possessed.
