- Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the MEH Contractor on site, with the support of the Responsible Designer or site Experts when needed.
- Providing adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met.
- Challenging design decisions so that engineering and design aligns with the project strategy.
- Assisting in with and co-ordinating support from other external organisations.
- Contribution to the resolution and closure of Open Points.
- Assessing technical risk and subsequently address this risk.
- Maintaining a strong relationship with the Responsible Designer
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in electrical design, installation and/or commissioning.
- Experience of applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within a highly regulated working environment/industry.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
- Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment.
- Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.

Site based role with hybrid availability. Contract (renewable) position – Inside IR35.
The Joint Design Office
The Joint Design Office (JDO), has been created to reinforce site-based engineering.
Its primary responsibility is to quickly respond to engineering queries and problems coming from site construction, to deliver the schedule and to deliver an increased scope of work.
A major bene?t of the JDO is the time saved for construction on site by having reactive answers and solutions enabling site staff to swiftly pursue their activities.
Broad Scope
Reporting to an Engineering Lead, the post-holder will contribute to the review and acceptance of engineering queries raised by the site Contractor on the electrical scope across the CI/BoP and Nuclear Island buildings.
The role will focus upon the electrical discipline but will interface with other disciplines and with other stakeholders such as the site Contractors (composed of main suppliers and sub-suppliers), Construction teams, Quality teams, Project Management teams, or Design teams (embedded within the JDO organisation on site, or in back office).
