Band 6 Junior Sister / Junior Charge Nurse - Frome Ward (General Surgery)

Frome ward is a 30 bedded ward; it receives all of the emergency General Surgical patients from A&E, clinics and repatriated patients.

On Frome ward you will be caring for acutely unwell patients, some of whom are pre & post ITU and you will be working very closely with the Uro-Oncology & Colo-Rectal CNS Teams alongside the Therapy teams to instigate timely discharges and effective patient flow on the ward.

Act as a role model to junior staff, being fully involved in team development and offer support to junior members of the team.
Maintain the high standards of care on the ward, participating in audit to monitor these standards.
Be able to coordinate patient flow throughout the ward, facilitating admissions and discharges.
Assist the Sister in the effective line management of the team and be proactive in staff development.
Have insight into budgetary control ensuring efficient use of resources.
