A national, large charity are recruiting for an Apprenticeships Development Manager to cover an internal secondment for a period of 18 months, for 28 hours per week.


The role is home based, although if working in an office is your preference, they have an office in Horsham, West Sussex and also in Blackfriars, London.


The role

This is a challenging and varied role, which will see the post-holder making a valuable contribution towards ensuring that the charity is able to meet its strategic aims of attracting, retaining and developing talent and ensuring that the organisation continuesto be a great place to work.

The key objectives of the Apprenticeships Development Manager are to deliver the Society's early careers and apprenticeship strategy by developing and managing the apprenticeship routes, which are:

  • Skills development of existing staff with apprenticeships related to their role.
  • New schemes for people to work within the charity and progress such as Internships, work placements and graduate training.

Here's some of the key work you'll be doing:

  • Provide advice and guidance to Senior Leaders and other key stakeholders on the utilisation of apprenticeships across the charity.
  • Take responsibility for preparing a broad programme of apprenticeships for the charities employees, from all apprenticeship routes.
  • Identify suitable external providers, agreeing course content to comply with Society policy and needs.
  • Negotiate and agree fees to align with apprenticeship funding bands and agreed budgets.
  • Ensure the greatest return of investment from all activity within the apprenticeship scheme.
  • Take management responsibility and accountability for the apprenticeship levy and associated budget

What we are looking for in you:

  • Education and/or Learning and Development based qualification e.g. PGCE / CIPD
  • Extensive, wideranging experience with a medium to large organisation
  • Experience of negotiating and influencing senior leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of managing contracts with external providers.
  • Experience of budget management
  • In depth understanding of learning and development practices and theories.
  • Effective working knowledge of UK qualifications system
