Are you a senior HR professional with experience of working in the Higher Education sector? Would you like to work for a world-class university on a permanent basis?

The university is one of the top ten universities in the world. They have gained their reputation by offering excellent education to students in science, engineering, business and medicine. The university is located in the heart of London and has around20,000 students currently studying at the university.


The purpose of the HR Business Partner role is to work with the Strategic HR Business Partner to support the Faculty and Support Services in a wide range of HR generalist duties.

The HR Business Partner job paying £51,000 - £55,000 is to assist with projectsand initiatives and support the Strategic HR Business Partner in developing plans and strategies.

The HR Business Partner will also deputise for the Strategic HR Business Partner when they are away.

The main responsibilities of this permanent HR Business Partner role include:

  • Providing strategic HR support to the Faculty on a daily basis.
  • Supporting with the development of strategy/plans and objectives that will deliver results reflecting environmental demands and best practice.
  • Providing advice and collaborate with HR, OD&I teams and the Staff / Recruitment Hubs.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of local strategies for attraction, retention, engagement and development of people by understanding the business.
  • Assisting departments in their people related projects and any university wide projects.
  • Resolve complex departmental challenges through people related solutions.


This HR Business Partner role will allow you to use your extensive HR skillset to advise, influence, coach and engage with managers and staff across the Faculty and the wider HR team.


This position would suit a CIPD qualified professional with a positive attitude and a passion for HR within the higher education sector.

Ideally the HR Business Partner will have worked for a higher education or research organisation previously.

The HR BusinessPartner will be able to use both their operational and strategic HR knowledge and experience on a daily basis.

This HR position also allows the opportunity for growth and development.


Apart from a salary of £51,000 - £55,000, you will also get 25 days of annual leave + Bank Holidays along with university closure days.
