    Description

    Job Purpose:

    The Swine Research Technician will be responsible for the day to day running of the research projects running in the areas of animal nutrition, sustainability, welfare and genetics.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out trials from Birth to bacon across the areas of animal nutrition, production efficiency, sustainability, and animal welfare trials.

    Collection of relevant data and samples from each trial.

    Actively maintain and manage the research database to ensure all results are uploaded and analysed in accordance with trial protocol and deadlines.

    Work within the research team to ensure the timely collection of data and completion of research projects.

    Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including company Health & Safety Policy and the Equal Opportunities Policy.

    Job Requirement:

    Essential

    A degree/qualification in animal/agricultural science.

    Data handling and analysis and IT skills in Microsoft packages.

    Experience of working in a methodical manner and independently.

    Excellent organizational and verbal/ written communication skills.

    Time management skills with the ability to work to meet deadlines.

    Flexible and adaptable

    Positive can-do attitude is essential along with the ability to work to a high standard without supervision.

    Clean Driving Licence and willing to travel across NI.

    Desirable:

    Previous Experience within the Farming / Pig industry

    Annual salary starting from: PS29,000 (DOE)

    Working hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend working.

    45 hours per week
