Job Description
Preparation & reporting of Group management accounts and other adhoc reporting using Pegasus Opera 3, to ensure timeliness of accurate financial information.
* Preparation of monthly 'Flash' reporting within desired timescales and ensuring accuracy.
* Assist in preparation of draft annual accounts for audit and tax, support with annual audit.
* Responsible for accurate preparation & submission of quarterly UK VAT returns.
* Oversee European VAT reporting & Intrastat returns ensuring compliance by liaising with external professionals.
* Ensure group's compliance with VAT/PAYE/NIC & P11D reporting.
* Reconciliation between In house ERP system and Opera 3.
* Monthly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet nominal codes.
* Reporting & detailed analysis of revenue and gross margin.
* Overhead variance Analysis.
* Intercompany Accounting.
* Responsible for non-commercial fleet management.
* Maintain financial policies and procedures, suggest, implement & monitor agreed financial controls.
* Manage payroll process ensuring robust financial controls are in place, provide cover for Payroll Assistant in their absence. Reconciliation of payroll data prior to BACS submission.
* Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance in payroll processes.
* Day to day management & mentoring of transactional finance team, managing transactional processes adhering to monthly timetable, including review of aged debtors/creditors reports, working with AR/AP to resolve/escalate queries in a timely manner.
* Approval of purchase ledger payment runs ensuring relevant controls are in place.
* Supporting the Head of Finance and wider management team
* Ad hoc duties, analytical reports and projects.
The Successful Applicant
Qualified - either degree in accounting, ACCA/CIMA
* Experience of Payroll processing is required
* Manufacturing experience & Group accounting is desirable.
* Previous experience of dealing with Imports/Exports, EU VAT invoicing complexities, multicurrency transactions, translations, foreign exchange differences desirable.
* Problem solver with a proactive approach in identifying issues within area of responsibility, recommending solutions and in implementing agreed recommendations.
* Be able to demonstrate planning, processing and organising abilities.
* Excellent attention to detail & accuracy with a curiosity to understand the wider business.
* Excellent communication skills both written & oral, able to communicate to internal and external stakeholders of varying levels.
* Must have Microsoft Excel advanced skills e.g pivot tables/vlookups etc, Pegasus Opera experience desirable however not essential as training will be given.
