This forward-thinking company is looking to add to its established Commercial team with the addition of an estimator within the West Midlands region.
You shall report into the commercial manager and will ensure relationships with contractors are established and maintained.Whilst also working closely with the land department, being responsible for preparing site-specific land appraisals in line with established land bid timetables, and for reviewing, establishing, and reporting on the risks and opportunities with each land bid.
Despite the current noise about the economy, this business is cash-rich, and are aggressively working on 5-10 major projects throughout the Midlands.
Within the role, you will be assisting with the preparation and accountability of land appraisals in support of site acquisitions, and ensuring the successful completion of prestart, on-site activities.
Issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries# Manage day-to-day commercial and contractual activities
# Preparation of interim and final accounts
# A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role with either a housebuilder/developer or main contractor. New build residential and commercial experience. Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to compile, interpret and present data for the preparation of budgets and valuations. Excellent knowledge of all codes of practice relating to estimating, for example, Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, and Code for Sustainable Homes. Organised and self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of projects.
50,000 – £65,000 Basic (depending on experience). Company Car/Car Allowance. Discretionary Bonus. Agile working policy.
