    Job Title: Community Nursery Nurse at South Tyneside 0-19 Team

    We are thrilled to offer a fantastic fixed-term opportunity for a nursery nurse to join our well-established team until March 2025. We are looking for motivated and forward-thinking nursery nurses who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families in South Tyneside. Our service is dedicated to providing every child with the best start in life, and we work closely with local partners to achieve this goal.

    • Main Duties of the Job:
    • Work in partnership with a team of Health Visitors and School Nurses to deliver the Healthy Child Programme
    • Support the delivery of baby clinics, public health sessions, and home visits
    • Assist in promoting public health activities such as breastfeeding, healthy weight, and lifestyle
    • Work with families to support behavior management and change
    • Collaborate with the Trust and South Tyneside Safeguarding Children & Adults Partnership
    • Assist in caring for children with complex health needs
    • Skills in record-keeping and using IT systems
    • Flexible and agile working practices
    • Full-time and part-time hours available

    • Job Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with other agencies to improve the health of pre-school children and their families
    • Support the delivery of aspects of the Healthy Child Programme
    • Contribute to well-baby clinics and public health sessions
    • Work with families to promote the Best Start in Life agenda
    • Support parents in enhancing their child's behavior and development
    • Participate in health-promoting initiatives and activities
    • Offer services in various settings including clinics, homes, schools, and nurseries

    Person Specification:

    Skills and Knowledge

    Essential:

    • Ability to prioritize tasks
    • Effective communication skills
    • Interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Flexible, motivated, and positive approach
    • IT skills
    • Willingness to undergo further training

    Desirable:

    • Public health experience, including breastfeeding support
    • Knowledge of parenting support programs
    • Awareness of Safeguarding Children Policy

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • NNEB or BTEC qualification
    • Childhood Studies Diploma or equivalent

      • Desirable:

    • Additional parenting program qualification
    • Experience working with Parents and Carers
    • Involvement in Innovative Practices

      • Experience

      Essential:

      • Teamwork and initiative skills
      • Organizational and workload prioritization skills
      • Monitoring, evaluation, and documentation abilities

      Desirable:

      • Community work experience
      • Outreach experience
      • One-on-one work with Parents and Carers

        • Physical Skills

        Essential:

      • Valid driver's license
