    The Role

We are looking to recruit a teacher of music to inspire the next generation of musicians in a school where music is hugely valued. We would like to hear from you if you have a genuine enthusiasm to pass your love of music on to the young people of Winsford. We are looking for a candidate with good musical knowledge and skills, a passion for discovering and nurturing musical talent, and drive to create opportunities in which students can develop and excel. We would like you to be willing to contribute to and build on the existing good practice that takes place both within timetabled lessons and in extra-curricular activities. The successful candidate will enjoy being part of a friendly and supportive team, committed to making a difference in the lives of our young people.

Peripatetic lessons are heavily subsidised at the Winsford Academy. Large numbers opt to study music at GCSE. Many students engage in concerts and local festivals throughout the year. We have a school orchestra, a number of singing groups, percussion groups and rock bands. Our music department often collaborates with other expressive and performing arts subjects, but music is a standalone department. Our curriculum is ambitious, broad and well-sequenced to benefit all pupils regardless of ability or starting point, but our main aim is to encourage a love of music, and to create a welcoming and safe learning environment in which students can thrive.

If you have any questions about the role, or the application process, or if you would like to arrange a visit to the school please contact Please also get in touch if you think Winsford Academy may be the school for you but you're looking for a different role. We'd love to add you to our talent pool.

Cheshire is a wonderful county in which to live and work. If you're considering relocating for a teaching or leadership role at The Winsford Academy do contact us to enquire about our generous relocation allowance.

    How to apply

We ask all applicants to apply through Face-Ed; our recruitment software. This enables us to efficiently carry out our safer recruitment checks, but we recognise it can take some time for the applicant. The good news is, you will only need to register for Face-Ed once to apply for any role in the Fallibroome Trust's 10 schools.

Our top tips for a painless process are as follows:

    • Because Face-Ed is cloud based software, it is possible for you to experience a break in connection and you won't necessarily know about it straight away. We therefore strongly recommend that you prepare your main application content in a different package like MS Word/Notepad and copy and paste it into your Face-Ed application form in the relevant sections.
    • If you get a message saying "Validation Error" it isn't a software fault. It means you have entered data in a format that wasn't expected and it is causing a problem with saving. This might mean you have entered words in a box that expects numbers, for example.
