Summary of Role:

Coordinator of all Customs activities, to include import/export strategy and operational matters.

Main focus of the role is to ensure that all UK legislation and AEO regulations are adhered to and continuously improve and stream-line the processes.


Main Accountabilities _
(include but are not limited to) _**:
To act as focal point for all customs and export control topics within our UK Business, main accountabilities are as stated below:

Regulatory

  • Maintain Customs Regulatory and AEO visibility within the organisation and routinely audit processes to AEO standard
  • Monitor local AEO certification and changes (e.g. monitors implemented processes, supervises receipt of security declarations, reports relevant changes to customs authorities)
  • Keep up to date with Customs regulation changes.

Customs Process Management

  • Introduce and maintain multiple reconciliations and trackers for fulfilment of Customs duties and AEO status fulfilment
  • Ensures correct customs clearance of import
  • Manage deferment level, including issuing authorisation to use deferment account
  • Reconciliation of the deferment account
  • Reconciliation of the C79 certificate matching to MSS reports
  • Proactively ensure all processes are documented and checked off (audit)

Stakeholder management

  • Supports local departments with regard to customs and export control topics (e.g. HS Codes, classification of goods, export control questions and so on)
  • Requests longterm supplier declarations from suppliers, evaluates their answers, claims missing declarations, enters relevant data in ITtool, issues longterm suppliers declarations to customers
  • Acts as contact person for national customs and export control authorities (to be combined with Rebecca Roach)
  • Regular liaison with Local (Rebecca Roach) and Corporate (Andrea Friedel) Customs Managers
  • Maintain relationships with all freight forwarders/agents and actively monitor their performance
  • Engage external suppliers as needed.
  • Support teams in Intrastat/Postponed accounting post Brexit
  • Support teams in all Customs related Audits
  • To undertake any other projects as discussed and agreed with the Finance Manager_

Person Specification / Job Requirements:


  • Good working knowledge of daily customs and export control operations
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent administration and time management skills

Job Types:

Salary:
From £24,000.00 per year
