The team sits at the heart of the council, working on the biggest issues facing Lambeth residents.

Lambeth - a borough to be proud of
Lambeth is a central London borough with an exceptional history.

A borough of diversity, connectivity and opportunity, Lambeth has long been home to radicals and reformers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, working together to change the lives of others.

Lambeth is a global destination, with strong institutions shaping a unique cultural and civic offer.

Lambeth has also become a Borough of Sanctuary, recognising its historic and current welcoming of new families and communities who want to make Lambeth 'home'.

We know that to be the best borough we can possibly be, we need to harness and nourish our assets, resources, and community energy, so that everyone in Lambeth can belong, can thrive, and so that nobody is left behind.

Over the last 12 months we have been working with our communities, residents, partners and workforce to set our strategic priorities and vision for Lambeth over the next 7 years.

Lambeth 2030:
Our Future, Our Lambeth, sets out our bold, long-term vision reflecting our ambitions for our residents and communities.

It sets out ambitions to make Lambeth a place we can all call home, to ensure our neighbourhoods are fit for the future and to make the borough one of the safest in London.

Running across each of these is an explicit commitment to making Lambeth a borough of equity and justice for all.

If this sounds like the place and people who match your values and ambitions, join us as we embark on our most exciting chapter yet and help us write history for the next generation.

About the team

The Policy and Partnerships team is a sensory function and strategic enabler; our role is to support the organisation to anticipate and understand the biggest challenges in the borough, and develop strategic responses that deliver the Council's priorities.

The team helps to set, shape and deliver policy locally, building coalitions with key partners and residents to deliver activities in support of the Council's ambitions - specifically through the development, delivery and implementation of

Lambeth 2030:
Our Future, Our Lambeth.

The roles

You will play a lead role in designing, testing and delivering policy in support of this agenda and across a range of policy areas.

We are looking for capable all-rounders, individuals comfortable working with senior officers and members and someone who understands how councils operate in a complex and fast paced environment.

An ability to pick up varied, complex and big profile policy topics is a must, as well as a capacity to produce briefings, guidance and other materials on a short turnaround.

You will need to have a good understanding of local government and the challenges it faces and an interest in policy development.

Experience of successful project management is essential, as are great organisational and written skills. Experience of working with design and agile principles are desirable.

You will play a lead role in building the proactive capacity of the team, scanning the horizon to look for new opportunities and ensure the council is resilient to shocks and waves that may come.
