Description

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Demonstrate the use of evidence-based specialist skills and practice in the care of critically ill ward-based patients.

Participate in key developments relating to CCOT so that high quality patient focused services are promoted. Demonstrate professional autonomy and the ability to lone work at a higher level, exhibiting effective decision making skills.

Use of specialist knowledge and skills in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care delivered to the critically ill/deteriorating ward based patient, ensuring the appropriate documentation is maintained and completed.


Demonstrate the interpretation and delivery of appropriate action / treatment / therapy to the critically ill/deteriorating adult patient, ensuring records are updated and maintained.

Monitor and evaluate the condition of patients using the national early warning scoring system, recognising and alerting staff to changes in the patients condition.

Assist and participate in the follow up care of patients discharged from critical care. Assist and participate in the transfer of the critically ill/deteriorating ward patient.
