    Location: West London Studio-based, Full-Time Position

    Pay: 26-30k Depending on experience

    Role Overview:

    As the First Assistant Camera (Focus Puller), you will be an integral part of our camera team, ensuring precision and excellence in every shot. This role is perfect for someone who not only excels in the technical aspects of working on a camera team but also enjoys sharing their expertise with others. The role will require occasional interaction with clients on set so professionalism and clear communication a must The team is six currently. We all pickup various roles depending on the scale of each production, so there will be opportunities to work as a camera operator on some productions. On larger commercials we work based on DoP, operator, first, second and trainee model.

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of Camera Gear: You will be responsible for the meticulous preparation and maintenance of camera equipment, from industry-leading manufacturers such as Arri, DJI, Sony, and Red. Your expertise in handling, assembling, and troubleshooting various camera systems will be invaluable.
    • Focus Pulling Mastery: Show off your exceptional skills in maintaining sharp focus during dynamic and challenging shots. Your keen eye and precise adjustments will be crucial in delivering the high-quality footage our clients expect.
    • Client Interaction: This role will involve interfacing with clients on set occasionally, both providing technical advice, and ensuring that their vision is realised. Strong communication skills and a professional outlook are essential.
    • Knowledge Sharing and Teaching: We value a collaborative environment where everyone can learn and grow. As a more experienced professional, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, sharing your insights and techniques to elevate the entire crew's capabilities.
    • Work as part of a larger team: At RD you will be working closely over time with producers and directors who also work in house. This requires a positive and solution orientated mindset.

    Qualifications:

    • 2-3 years of experience as a First Assistant Camera (Focus Puller) within advertising, film or tv.
    • Proficiency with a range of camera systems, particularly from Arri, Sony, and Red.
    • Expertise in focus pulling techniques, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to deliver crisp, professional footage.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable interacting with clients and collaborating with a diverse team.
    • Willingness to teach and share knowledge, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the studio.
