    Job Purpose

    The Senior Offshore Construction Supervisor is responsible to supervise and coordinate the safe and efficient execution of project operations. Ensuring all operations are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations and Company policies, procedures and objectives. Assuming responsibilities of the Offshore Construction Manager as required.

    Job Description

    Management:

  • Maintaining company quality assurance and control philosophy during all activities
  • Ensure the Clients requirements are being met in accordance with the relevant standards and procedural documentation
  • Ensure all operations are carried out in compliance with local legislative requirements
  • Liaising with the departmental supervisors as to the readiness of equipment
  • Ensure all discipline and departmental handovers are carried out clearly and concisely, ensuring relevant information is logged within the handover log and the daily logs
  • Ensure all procedural or system changes are managed in accordance with company MOC process
  • Safety:

  • HSE incidents and non-conformances are logged and recorded appropriately
  • Fully familiar with processes for reporting unsafe acts, time out for safety and stop the job authority
  • Operations:

  • Coordinate/supervise operations, where applicable, in line with project plans
  • Fully conversant with project procedures, liaising with Project Engineers and assisting with organising and planning of operational project plans
  • Ensuring all departmental tool box talks, shift handovers and briefings are carried out in accordance with company guidelines and logged appropriately
  • Planning, preparation and ongoing management of readiness of project equipment
  • Ensure all system checks and operations are carried out by competent personnel
  • Involved in the pre planning and assist with project mobilisations and demobilisations
  • Ensure regular updating of operational status, equipment losses or failure and project schedules to assist in planning and highlight possible issues within the scope of work
  • Technical/systems:

  • Continued assurance of all documentation in use is relevant and traceable within the BMS or exerts from vendor operational manuals
  • You are meant for this job if:

    Essential: Dependent on the background of the candidate one of the following qualifications is required:

  • Engineering degree or similar tertiary qualification to Higher National Certificate (HNC) standard or appropriate electrical or mechanical trade qualification (City and Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) Level 3, Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Good working knowledge of written and oral English language
  • Good understanding of Offshore Construction Supervisor's role within the offshore environment
  • Extensive experience in a similar role or role/s progressing towards the position of Senior Offshore Construction Supervisor
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of offshore construction processes, including a good working knowledge of cranes, rigging, lifting, QHSE and operational procedures
  • Sound working knowledge of ROV, Dynamic Positioning (DP) pipelay and survey operations
  • Good understanding of flexible product including constraints and limits
  • Ability to plan ahead to make operations as efficient as possible
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct simultaneous operations (multi-tasking)
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written, including presentation skills
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and other relevant technical documents
  • Ability to complete Company and Client required documentation accurately and concisely
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of current legislation and guidance
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Company management systems
  • Must be computer literate

  • Background and Experience

    Practical knowledge:

  • Knowledge of subsea construction and /or pipe lay process/ cranes, rigging and lifting operational and QHSE procedures
  • Understanding and demonstration of Technip Group Values
  • Demonstrable understanding of and Operations Manuals, SOPs, and Project Plans
  • Company FMS/BMS, SMS and vessels ISSOW
  • Operational requirements for HAZOP/HAZID and Risk assessments
  • Competent level of relevant computer skills, document control and IT method
  • Provide ongoing personnel mentoring
