Buyer (Engineering)

Location:
Based in Leicestershire

Hours:
Full time, Monday-Friday

Salary: 30,000

The role:

Due to internal promotion within the buying and procurement department the company is now seeking an experienced Buyer to join the business on a full time, permanent basis.

As a Buyer you will be working closely alongside the Head Buyer to support the buying process. The company is an established wholesale manufacturer supplying to distributors within the technical market.

Mechanical/Technical engineering knowledge or background is desirable but not essential
Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer/Buyer is a must for this role
Ability to build rapport with suppliers in order to create long standing preferred supplier relationships
Good knowledge of Excel
Use of Procurement systems would be advantageous
Willingness to learn the business sector

Key responsibilities:

Processing orders from key accounts
Update Excel and ERP systems accordingly to process orders and keep on track with the supplier process
Ensuring that Excel and ERP systems are updated accordingly to maintain stock levels
Generating purchase orders as agreed with the Head Buyer utilising preferred suppliers
Contacting suppliers to order stock
Accepting deliveries of stock arrival, checking against allocated purchase order
Matching purchase orders to delivery notes, streamlining the accounts process
Gaining an understanding of the manufacturing of mechanical equipment, enabling you to recognise and allocate the correct materials
