    About the Role

    An opportunity has arisen for a CPPE qualified pharmacy technician to work in a well established and patient focused pharmacy team at Goldington Avenue Surgery. The team consists of a senior clinical pharmacist, two clinical pharmacists, two pre-registration pharmacists, a pharmacy technician and three prescription clerks. You will be covering for the pharmacy technician who will be on maternity leave commencing July 2023. We are a rapidly growing practice and whilst this is initially advertised as a fixed term role, there may be potential to convert this to a permanent role if desirable.

    Goldington Avenue Surgery is a split site surgery and the team is largely based at our Union Street Branch. You will be working in a multi-desked hub so have instant support on hand from the pharmacists. This also enables relationship building and a chance to gain a rapid understanding of how the team works. The surgery has a list size of around 19,000 patients and is a high achieving both in QOF and the PIS schemes. The pharmacy team carry out key roles in audits and chronic disease reviews as well as medicines reconciliations and medication reauthorisation tasks.

    Although not essential, we welcome applications from those who have some chronic disease training and would be willing to provide support should you already be established in carrying out chronic disease reviews. The pharmacy technician has a vital role in medication reconciliation and good communication skills are essential both with patients and colleagues. Medication reauthorisation and ensuring appropriate medication monitoring takes place is a key part of the workload and safeguards and searches are well established for you to work within.
