Full Time (37 hrs per week)

Teaching/Contact Time: 21 hrs per week

Must be available to teach during the day and evenings

Generous annual leave entitlement of 48 days Inc bank holidays.


Due to recent growth at the College, we are seeking for a Lead Tutor to lead Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities, lead External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits with the support of the Quality Team as well as lead and deliver our range of Employability and Digital Skills programmes.

New Directions College is Reading Borough Council's Adult Community Learning and Skills service. This year we're celebrating 65 years of Adult Learning in Reading.

We're a small friendly College delivering to over 2000 learners and Apprentices each year, directly and through our subcontractors and partners.

About The Role
We are looking for someone with experience of teaching Employability Programmes and Digital Skills from Beginners to Advanced levels.


You should have relevant occupational competence and professional teaching qualifications to support, conduct IQA activities, teach and assess within designated curriculum area and always operate within national professional standards.


You will support the Curriculum Manager with marketing and public relations, as well as support curriculum development and planning activities, including timetabling, learner recruitment and retention.

You will lead initial assessment activities for learners and provide information, advice, and guidance. Ensure all initial assessment activities are accurately recorded and shared with staff.


You'll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability.
