This is a great moment to join us as we are hiring an Intern - Private Markets, Blended Finance Private Equity for 12 months.

This position is based in Frankfurt or London.

Blended Finance Private Equity within AllianzGI is a fast-evolving theme. The investment team has grown in the last years to one of the leading blended finance equity investors.

The team operates three impact investment vehicles which represent blended and non-blended approaches, developed countries and developing countries, with a primary focus on equity investments.

As Allianz GI continues to develop and grow its Impact Investment management business, an opportunity exists to join this team and assist across the existing and future vehicles.

You should possess a high conviction about impact investing and demonstrate skills and interest with regards to private market i) investments in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds ii) emerging and/or developed markets ) some familiarity of ESG and Impact standards and issues / experience integrating ESG considerations into investment process and iv) knowledge about the specifics and needs of institutional investors in investments.

What you will do

Help the team in executing investments and manage its funds

Assist in market mapping, market analysis and deal sourcing activities.
Assist the deal team, help undertake detailed transaction due diligence, including the review and analysis of Investment proposals, due diligence reports, and join the presentations of the transactions in front of the IC.
Assist in the negotiation of investment terms and help to execute transactions in fund investments covering Private Equity target funds.
Help supervise of the ongoing operations of the funds, incl. target fund performance monitoring, cash management, preparation of investor presentations and quarterly reporting.

Fund raising / new business

Contribute to fund strategy, sourcing, structuring, preparation of fund documentation for newly to be implemented blended finance equity impact vehicles
Assist in preparation of marketing materials and potentially attend prospective investor meetings

Team support

Support team head with management of team calendar that captures visits for due diligence, events, etc., of team members with locations and timings in advance of quarterly timetable
Assist team head with team meeting preparation of materials or follow ups from weekly team mtgs

Internal support to other Allianz GI/Allianz departments

Support and cooperate with other internal operational functions involved in the fund management.
Help developing case studies of impact investments that can serve the needs of the marketing and communications department.

What you bring

Studies in business administration, finance, economics or natural sciences, with excellent results
University degree: Bachelor a plus
Articulated conviction in Impact Investing and willingness to help in developing the topic further
Experience in investing, knowledge and interest in Impact Investing definitely a plus
Work experience in carrying out investments as part of a deal/ consultant team a definite plus
Experience in fund investments or direct private equity transactions
Knowledge about investments in developing countries a plus
Fluency in English and at least one other language, German knowledge a plus
Expertise in creating and operating Excel financial models
Excellent power point skills
Creative and practical intelligence, evidenced by top class academics of a leading university
