About the role:


The Finance Business Partner will support the delivery of the business strategy and its financial goals in a growing international SME environment.

We're looking for somebody to help us gain better insights into the business through financial modelling and the development of our management reporting.

You'll also provide robust financial accounting to ensure the timely delivery of month-end close processes and associated support activity, working with the rest of the team to deliver projects and helping where needed, from transactional data to presenting financial analysis to the Senior Leadership Team.


It's a great opportunity for somebody who is keen to get into the details of a fast-growing software business and gain exposure to all aspects of a finance department in an international SME.

You will work directly with key stakeholders to add value through financial planning and analysis to aid data-driven decision making.

What you'll do:Forecasting:


  • Prepare companywide budgeting, forecasting & planning.
  • Financial modelling and the preparation of business cases and capital fund requests as required by the senior leadership team (SLT).

Reporting:

  • Support the SLT with continuous development of the annual and strategic plan templates.
  • Improve the quality of management information (MI) and KPI reporting.
  • Be visible in, and partner with, the business to ensure that financial targets are met.
  • Build and develop reporting as directed by the Finance Manager, challenging current processes.
  • Build effective relationships with department heads and teams.

Month End:

  • Manage the monthly global consolidation and intercompany/transfer pricing processes.
  • Prepare and calculate monthend accruals and journal entries, along with associated balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review monthly results with the key budget holders.
  • Support month end MI process, in conjunction with the Finance Manager, to deliver timely MI to the business.
  • Prepare monthly financial commentaries providing analytical insight into business performance to aid decision making.

  • Finalist / newly qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) / QBE
  • Finance experience within a software company, or a growing SME environment.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Committed to personal development and expanding business knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience presenting summary level MI to senior audiences.
  • Confident presentation skills to deliver clear and convincing information to support decision making.
  • Highly independent and keen to help the team work through novel challenges as the business grows.
  • Able to actively support and challenge colleagues at all levels of the business.

What you'll get*:
  • Salary £43,000
  • £50,000 (FTE) dependent on experience
