As a Lunchtime Supervisor you will work within a small team to ensure an organised approach to meal breaks. Students should receive their meals in a timely manner, in a clean, tidy and safe environment.

The college supports students with Autism and complex needs, you will support the students over the lunchtime period assisting them with eating and personal care if needed.

The working hours are 11:50 - 13:20 Monday - Friday 8 hours per week.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate the dinner queue, communicating effectively with students.
  • Supervise & support learners eating meals.
  • Ensure crockery, cutlery, trays and leftovers are returned by learners to relevant collection and disposal points
  • Deal with spillages in Dining Hall.
  • Ensure student behaviour management and safeguarding processes are followed, ensuring any incidents are properly reported to the duty manager or LSA manager.
  • Work effectively with catering staff and learning support staff to ensure a positive lunchtime experience for students, including following agreed strategies with individual students where necessary
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude towards disability and assist those students who may need help.
  • Any other relevant duties as directed by the line manager or Catering Manager (where appropriate).
  • Attend any training and development identified by the LSA management team to support job performance or that is a QAC requirement e.g. safeguarding, equality, H&S, food hygiene.
  • Follow College policies and procedures as directed by the line manager.
