A global electronics manufacturer and distributor are now looking for a Quality Manager to join their team.


Quality Manager - Role Overview
The company has recently opened a brand new, state of the art distribution centre in the south of Leeds.


The role will be to create and establish Quality Systems to reduce the number of incorrect parts being shipped, incorrect products being distributed, and also liaising with customers regarding faulty parts being returned and establishing where the faulthas occurred and how to resolve it.

The company is also accredited with ISO 9001 and part of your role will be to maintain the accreditation.


This position would be ideal for a Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering professional who is looking to step into a Quality Management role.

The role will also suit a Quality Manager who has worked for a small business and wanting the grow with a large,global business.


Quality Manager - Key Tasks/Duties:


  • Maintaining the company's ISO9001 accreditation.
  • Implement quality tools such as 8D to reduce customer complaints and correct quality issues.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing techniques to continually improve production processes and reduce the incidence of incorrect parts/ quantity of parts being shipped.
  • Review internal processes to reduce customer complaints and find the root cause of quality issues.

  • Skills and Experience*
  • Hold a recognised engineering qualification such as C&G, HNC, HND or BEng.
  • Experience working in a logistics/warehousing or Operations Background
  • Ideally have ISO 9001 Auditing experience although the company will provide training
  • Previous work experience in an electronics industry such as PCB's, Switch Boards, Capacitors etc. Although this is not essential, and training will be provided on the companies' products.
  • Ideally have an understanding of LEAN & Continuous Improvement implementing tools and techniques such as SMED, Kaizen, KanBan, TPM, 8D's etc.
  • Ideally hold a LEAN or Six Sigma Qualification
  • Ideally be a member of CQI or ASQ
  • Able to work on your own and communicate effectively at all levels from Directors down to warehouse staff
