Hargate Healthcare are recruiting a Registered Manager for a children's home in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The service is home to 4 young people aged 7-17 years with learning disabilities.

The Role of Registered Manager

As the Registered Manager, you will be supported by two Deputy Managers, a Therapist, and a PBS Practitioner to ensure the needs of the young people are safely met.

This includes developing their independence and life skills, implementing evidence-based interventions, and using PBS plans to reduce behaviours of concern and improve quality of life.

To ensure each young person's experience is filled with fun, laughter, friendship,and discovery.


You will achieve this by:


  • Working with the Residential Operations Manager to maintain the highest standards of therapeutic childcare
  • Hold Ofsted registration and ensure the service meets Ofsted standards
  • Manage recruiting and staffing of a residential childcare team
  • Manage staff rotas and build and develop the staff team
  • Maintain high levels of consultation with young people about the quality of care they receive
  • Working in partnership with professionals, carers, and parents to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people

Registered Manager Requirements:


  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 in Children's and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving license
  • At least 1 years' team management experience and 2 years' experience of residential services
  • Able to build and maintain trust and rapport with children and staff
  • To be a positive role model
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports
