    Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

    As part of this new department, they have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to play a key role in testing and reporting on different samples.

    The Laboratory technician role will be required to carry out the preparation, testing and reporting of samples. It will require some application of previous knowledge to develop new techniques and testing methodologies. Contributes to the business' safety performance and awareness, promotes initiatives that drive a culture of safety first

    • Preparing Samples for testing in a core flood system
    • Follow instruction on in house procedures under the supervision of Senior staff
    • Use of general laboratory equipment including but not limited to balances, hot plate and various other wet chemical analysis equipment
    • Producing reports for samples tested and input of sample results into the Computer system
    • Completing internal testing and QA verification of samples, using Ph meters, Hydrometers, Turbidity meters and other analytical equipment.
    • Preparing samples for external analysis including - XRF, ICP, XRD and SEM.
    • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and maintain high on time delivery and first-time right performance
    • Meet the high standards related to housekeeping, including cleaning of sample jars, moulds, glassware etc
    • Be willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by senior managers to assist in the execution of annual targets
    3-5+ Years of experience working in laboratory environment

    • Strong Chemistry background highly desirable
    • Able to manage and analyse data, highlighting anomalies and outliers
    • Basic knowledge of relevant laboratory operations/standards
    • Knowledge of relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards
    • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with an excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and Teams.
    Ensure all aspects of online Health and Safety portal are kept up to date.


    • To ensure that health and safety standards are maintained and improved in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act etc 1974 and the Health & Safety Policy Statement.
    Salary - £28k - £32k depending on experience.
    * 24 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays
