This band 6 paediatric role gives you the option of choosing how you would like to split your working hours and includes the opportunity to work from home.

You will be well supported and assist other paediatric dietitians and the wider multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat children and young people with a range of nutritional and medical needs, such as faltering growth, obesity, allergy and/or many other acute or chronic health conditions. This role is extremely varied and includes out-patient clinics, ward-based in-patients, good multi-disciplinary team working and many opportunities for continued professional development and service development. Good communication, time management and organisational skills are essential.

Essential Criteria:

Degree/Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics

HCPC Registration

Minimum 2 years post qualification with experience of paediatrics

Main duties of the job

To deliver a high quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetic Service to paediatric inpatients and outpatients for Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT). The post holder will be expected to work across site (Queen's Hospital, King George Hospital).

To be responsible for providing specialist nutritional care, including assessment, dietary therapy/intervention and monitoring, for paediatric patients and their carers.

To work as an integral part of the Paediatric Dietetic Team and to act as an expert resource on paediatric nutrition, providing education and training to dietetic students and other health care professionals across the organisation.

To contribute to the Trust clinical governance programme by participating in continuing professional development, audits, service development and implementation of evidence-based guidelines/protocols/policies.

We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.
