    The role of Mobile Operative is hands on and you'll be involved in the following: Train preparation; shunting, marshallingTrain dispatchProblem solvingRailway yard managementEnsuring the safe operations of trainsYou will directly contribute to our service delivery and have the opportunity to influence the service we offer to our customers. The role will cover a varied number of customer sites, DB Cargo UK sites and infrastructure worksites as required. You will be required to work outside in all weather conditions come rain or shine.
    Your standard hours of work will be 35 hours per week.

    Flexibility is a must as Freight never stops, so naturally this role will involve working shift patterns which includes unsociable hours
    Qualifications: If you're looking for a career change or a new challenge this role could be the perfect fit for youPrevious rail experience would be a bonus, however, this is not essential as we offer full training to ensure that you'd be ready to take on the role by yourself and help us in our journey to shift freight from the road to the rail.

    Starting salary:
    £28,555 per annum plus shift allowance of £3,696 per annumCompany pension scheme31 days paid holiday each year in addition to 2 public holidaysFamily Reward Benefit Scheme The selection process for this role includes: Stage 1 – If your application is successful at the sifting stage, you will be invited to an online assessment where you will be assessed on numerical, verbal and mechanical understanding in a controlled assessment environment.
    Stage 2 – upon successful completion of the assessment, you will attend an interview.

    Stage 3 – pass a medical and drug and alcohol test.*Please note, for stage 1 (assessment) you will be monitored via a process called Proctoring which takes snap shots of you whilst you are sitting the test.
