    Automation & Controls Engineer
    Location: Buckinghamshire
    Salary: £40k - £55k (dep on exp) + excellent benefits

    A brand-new opportunity has arisen for an Automation & Controls Engineer to join a well-established global market leader in automation machinery The role will involve setting-up and programming PLCs to provide product support to the company's European subsidiaries. They have a global presence and work with clients all over the world with their European and Asian counterpart sites

    The Automation & Controls Engineer will need experience within industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP and IO-Link. This all-encompassing role will involve supporting clients technical questions, providing assistance for specific customer applications and performing faulty to mention designing and delivering training courses/presentations to other sites.

    This will suit an automation or controls systems engineer with extensive knowledge of PLCs and Ladder or Structured Text programming language along with strong written and verbal communication skills as you will also be writing detailed technical reports and product documentation. This will be a highly collaborative role in which you will be working with engineers across the Buckinghamshire site, the European subsidiaries and even their Japan counterparts

    The Automation & Controls Engineer will need the following:
    • A Degree or HND Qualification - Electrical, Electronics, Software or Electromechanical Engineering
    • Recent and relevant experience within automation/controls systems engineering arenas.
    • Knowledge of PLCs and Ladder or Structured Text programming language
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills as you will be required to write detailed, technical reports and product documentation.
    • The ability to occasionally travel to Europe.
    The following skills would be highly desirable and advantageous:
    • Experience of inspecting and testing devices
    • Working knowledge of pneumatic and electrical test equipment
    • Experience to plan and manage projects.
    • Technical product support experience
    • Experience of delivering technical training
    • Experience with some industrial communication protocols for example PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT and IO-Link
    • Experience with some PLC engineering tools: Tia Portal, TwinCAT and Studio 5000
