    Description

    A hugely exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Developer to join a start-up in Cambridge, and transition into the cutting-edge and futuristic area of quantum computing.

    Working across the stack, we are looking for a software professional proficient in C++ or Rust, who understands the mechanics of how hardware executes software instructions.

    This forward-thinking, highly diverse company welcomes applicants requiring part-time working.

    Location:
    Cambridge, UK – hybrid working, 3 days in office.

    Salary:
    £50,000 - £70,000 per annum.

    Requirements for C++ Software Engineer / Developer

    At least 2 years of commercial experience in a software engineering position
    Excellent academics including a 2.1 or 1st class honours STEM degree and at least AAB at A Level
    Proficient in C++ or Rust
    Scripting ability in Python
    While embedded engineering experience would be beneficial as a minimum you should have an understanding of the mechanics of how hardware executes software instructions
    Natural ability to quickly pick up and learn new technologies
    Great communication skills

    Responsibilities for Software Engineer / Developer

    Develop and build software components
    Create functional and performance models of hardware for system design processes
    Verify and benchmark system correctness and performance
    Collaborate with teams across the business to understand the requirements of the systems
